I grew up bouncing around the world - the product of my parents' (two teachers) educational experiment.  I was homeschooled and given what was essentially a classical education with the goal of turning me into a multi-lingual, multi-cultural, "citizen of the world" with a very solid knowledge base.  It was a very unusual but wonderful experience, and I think my parents mostly suceeded in their experiment (despite my not always being as diligent a pupil as I should have been!).

My father was an artist, and his mother worked in fashion in NY's garment district, so I come by my passions honestly, or at least genetically ;)

After getting my MBA, I opened my own women's custom clothing boutique in Denver.  I closed my business after 5 years to follow new opportunities in Seattle.  Frustrated by my inability to find quality fabrics at what I considered reasonable prices, I started BeautifulTextiles.com - an online site selling unique designer fabrics at reasonable prices.

I am an artist and fashion designer, recently relocated to the Detroit suburbs (I travel a lot!), who is having quite a lot of fun experimenting with new designs, new techniques, and expanding my repertoire.

I teach, learn, travel, and am working on several new artistic business ventures…
